Malaysia
Once, it was a small town. Today, it is
a big and sophisticated city. A destination where one can see,
feel, smell, taste and hear all of Asia
From its highlands
to its beaches to its nature to its food to its temples to its
people to its wildlife to its sealife to its shopping to its
heritage
a true Asia where the new co-exist with the charm
of the old.
Take its food even
Malaysians will not be able to tell you how the hawker food
came about. Assam Laksa, Hokkien Mee, Char Kway Teow, Roti
Prata, Nasi Lemak
all exotic names of dishes whose origins
are as mixed up as the ingredients that make them so delicious.
Take its history from the romantic and dashing tales
of the Malay warriors to the Dutch and Portuguese heritage
of Malacca to the British influence in Penang and Cameron
Highlands to the colourful Chinese Legends. A history that
has led to the inter-winding of cultures that makes Malaysia
a truly cosmopolitan country where although most Malaysian
speaks English, they can switch from tongue to tongue effortlessly
Even its attraction is
so well mixed up together that no one icon stands out as being
symbolic of Malaysia over the years, tourism marketers
have toyed with turtles, dabbled with dive spots, flirted
with butterflies, ran wild with the Orang Utans, reveled in
nature and glorified its beaches.
Truth is, Malaysia is so packed with so many attractions that
is hard for one attraction to stand out over another.Malaysia
is indeed a true melting pot of all Asia from its culture
to its food to its sights, sound and smell, where the concoction
it contains is so well brewed and blended together that no
one "ingredient" stands out over any other
