ASIA'S
FIRST LUXURY TERMINAL
|
Asia's
first stand-alone luxury terminal offering five-star
facilities and services to the jet-set class is now
opened.
As
part of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore's
(CAAS) efforts to provide the widest range of services,
from budget to the ultra exclusive, Changi Airport is
set to open Asia's first luxury terminal for the rich
and famous after having set up a budget terminal recently.
|

|
Queues could
be outdated for travellers known in the aviation business as
a Commercially Important Person (CIP). This basically means
that for a fee, he can cut the long immigration and security
queues and be whisked from entrance to boarding the plane in
as little as 30 minutes. What's more, he is able to enjoy privacy
and luxurious services in between.
The idea
behind the luxury terminal is to create a different experience
before a traveller even boards the flight. It starts the minute
he arrives at the gate - the bags are taken care of, his boarding
pass and security clearances are done within a couple of minutes.
He then relax till it is time to board, at which time an electronic
cart takes him right up to the gate.
In addition,
for that extra rock star treatment, he can even pay for a
limousine to drive him on the tarmac right up to the foot
of the plane.

SINGAPORE BIENNALE 2006
|
|
|
The Singapore Biennale 2006 (SB2006), Singapore's inaugural
international biennale of contemporary art, will open
to the public on 4 September 2006. This major international
contemporary art exhibition will feature more then 95
artists and artists collectives from over 38 countries
and regions including Singapore.
|
SB2006 highlights
Singapore's prominence as an international visual arts hub,
not only providing new opportunities for Singapore artists,
curators and arts businesses, but also as a key enabler of exchange
and collaborations for the global arts community.
As the
anchor cultural event for Singapore 2006: Global City. World
of Opportunities, SB2006 provides the platform for the presentation
of international art in dialogue with Singapore and Asia.
Singapore 2006 is the umbrella event where Singapore will
play host to the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors
of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group.
The rationale
behind the creative concept of the Singapore Biennale 2006
stems from the strong belief of marrying visual art with street
culture - an intervention of art into public spaces, allowing
art to be an integral part of everyday life.
If you
are an avid art fan, do not miss this opportunity to relish
this incredible exhibition.

COLOURS OF LIFE
|

|
|
Saigon
Children's Charity (SCC) has been helping to educate
poor and disadvantaged children in Vietnam since 1992.
SCC's Thang Long vocational training school helps 400
of the neediest and most vulnerable children in District
4 by giving them a chance to escape from the poverty
into which they were born.
The
project aims to develop and encourage creativity and
expression amongst deprived Vietnamese children. This
helps them to develop the self-confidence they need
to tackle their own problems and assert control over
their own lives. For many of our independently spirited
youngsters, photography is an ideal choice. Children
learn the skills and opportunities that enable them
to generate an income through their photography. The
children learn through a combination of classroom experience,
trips out in the locality and monthly trips to other
parts of Vietnam. On these trip they take pictures that
will be display at their exhibitions.
|
The Colours
of Life is Saigon Children's Charity first ever photo exhibition
in Singapore and will feature 45 photographs. The pictures cover
a variety of subjects and gives you a glimpse into the lives
of young Vietnamese children and the world seen through their
eyes.
The photographs
will be on sale for the duration of the exhibition. Proceeds
will go to the development of the Thang Long Vocational Training
School's Photography Project and the Business Times Budding
Artists Fund.
